It’s entirely possible that I talk too much about Seattle-based record label Car Crash Set, but you’ll know my intentions of shutting up about them are non-existent when you hear their newly-signed artist Minerva.
With previously released material under the pseudonym “Josif,” this UK gentleman is now set to break hearts under his new moniker of “Minerva”. Classy, gorgeous, deep garage vibes, with pitched-up vocals is the current mood, and what’s around the corner is pretty exciting to consider.
This will be released as the 62nd installment in Car Crash Set’s catalog on September 11th. Check more on his Soundcloud, and as always:
Sounds a lot like Burial. I really dig the sound. Very chill but also ominous. I could listen to this all day.
I was sent this song today on my Facebook page by a fellow blogger, and while skeptical at first at this being some Odd Future bandwagon jumper, it turns out that the little homie Wes Black stands on his own two feet. Albeit being similar to that group he does have a different sound. Being only 17, Wes composes the beats, lyrics, artwork and all other aspects of his art all on his own making him quite impressive in that aspect. Check out the track “Yuckmouth” above and check back in the next week for an interview.
